Slowly but surely

I've been a very remiss blogger and stitcher this week. I have done some, and I can see the difference, but I'm willing to accept that if your nose isn't 4 inches from it you might not be able to. It's been a bit of a busy week (and especially weekend), and I've been trying to learn to crochet after the girls at Harrogate Craftwork Group inspired me, but so far I've only mastered chain stitch, via the use of books and youtube, in my defence I think left handedness is counting against my a bit... and I'm trying to make sure I can do a halfway decent chain until I move on to the next stitch. That's my excuse anyway!

I found crochet so hard to get the hang of until my sister showed me how to do it. It is very enjoyable so I thing you will find it lots of fun.

Such pretty colours in your stitchery. I, too have struggled with crochet so I feel your pain.

Hey there fellow lefty!! Stick with the crochet it's alot of fun and so so so much faster the cross stitch. Your girl is fantastic and as I always say even one stitch is progress. Congrats on resisting the HAED sale, I was not so good but also not too bad LOL!
Take care xo

Well done on the progress, the only person who needs to see it is you - that's an attitude to everything in life I adapt. Crocheting is hard. I can do chain stitches and one particular flower that I made more that 140 of to make a top (which has still haven't been made up yet. An interesting technique I learned a while ago ... If you make chain stitched strands (keep them medium length or small where appropriate to avoid cutting) in different colours. Then use pva glue to glue to cardboard on which you have pre-drawn an image. I have seen some amazing art work in such a technique and your chain stitches won't go to waste. Good luck!

I can't say how learning to crotchet was for me, my great aunt taught me that when I was about 6 years old. I learned to do the crotchet chains with my fingers when I was 3 or 4 years old ;-)
Winters Majesty is beautiful as always =)

Looking good, Kim. I can see where you worked on it. Up near the top there is some filled in right under the tan. And as long as you see it, that's all that matters. Just remember, slow and stead wins the race. Fast and uncarefully means you have to frog!!!! Good luck with your crochet. I can't do it, lol. I can't figure out which loop to drop and which to keep!!!
