Gridding?

Has anyone tried that DMC ready gridded fabric. I'm afraid I've completely forgotten what it's called. Two strands are dyed red so that it's ready gridded for you, then when you wash it, the lines fade, at least their meant to.
I bought some 25 count because I thought it would be good for HAEDs, thankfully I decided to do a test piece first, and I'm so glad that I did. I did a square of black and a square of white to test the two extremes and the white has picked up a pink tinge where the reds faded, and it hasn't completey faded so it's completely useless anyway.
Has anyone else tried it? Has it wored for you? I'm just wondering whether I've got a dud batch or whether it's something that I've done wrong, any ideas?

On an unrelated note, for the first time in goodness knows when, I hit my writing target last month, woohoo!!!

I haven't tried it but have wondered about it. I'll be interested to see what other feedback you get about it here :) Good idea to do a test piece first!

I haven't tried it. I've always just gridded myself using a disappearing/washable pen when needed. Congrats on reaching your writing target!

It's called Magic Guide by DMC. Out of interest how did you wash your test piece only I've used this stuff a few times and never had a problem with it, I washed mine in a machine following the instructions on the packet. Sounds like you may have a dud piece if it hasn't worked properly.

I haven't tried it either. The only pieces I've gridded were the HAED ones, and even then I only gridded the page outlines. LOL!

Great job on hitting your writing target!!! :D

I have tried it and didn't have a problem. I did wash by hand but I used quite hot water. I'm sure the colour fades away if you try a bit warmer water?
